Quality of life scales can help you assess how your pet is doing in a fair and impartial manner. In the JOURNEYS quality of life scale , there is not one magic number that says “It’s time” but rather this tool lets you track changes in your pet’s condition. It also considers you and and your family’s role in this decision — an important part of the equation.

The Argus Institute at Colorado State University Grief Resources provides a good collection of articles for pet loss support, as well as those making end-of-life decisions for their pets.

The Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement lists online support groups as well other resources for pet loss.

Veterinary Wisdom provides a collection of resources for pet loss, including articles, eBooks, keepsakes and a Facebook page.

The Rainbows Bridge website offers both a pet loss forum and chat room, as well as other grief resources.
